Bude Canal Trust Partnership

The Trust has been fortunate in that it is helped in its works by a number of other bodies who have come together in the Bude Canal Trust Partnership. Currently, the Partners are Devon County Council, Cornwall Council, Torridge District Council, Pancrasweek Parish Council, Holsworthy Hamlets, Bude Canal and Harbour Society, Devon Wildlife Trust and South West Lakes Trust. Support for the Partnership also comes from Holsworthy Town Council and Bude-Stratton Town Council, who all send observers to Partnership meetings.

The Partnership bodies help the Trust to carry out its programme of works, which is agreed by the Trust and the Partners. Where available, Partners have provided funding for these agreed works and otherwise provide work in kind. The Partnership has proved very successful in ensuring that this wide range of interested parties acts in unison for the well-being of the Trust’s length of the Bude Canal. The Trustees are very grateful to the Partners for all their help in maintaining and improving this valuable heritage and wildlife resource in the face of what are increasingly difficult financial circumstances.
