The formal objectives of the Bude Canal Trust, as set out in its Memorandum of Association approved by the Charity Commission, are:-

   a) to preserve, conserve and restore the Bude Canal and to promote and stimulate
       public interest in and the fullest appropriate use by the public of the Canal and its
       environs;

   b) to advance public education in the history and former use of the Bude Canal and
       in the associated wildlife of canals and inland waterways generally.
